ANGEL
This series emerged from a period of suffering, uncertainty, and emotional solitude, shaped by the experience of navigating illness within the family. During this time, I found myself reflecting on the idea of guardian angels and spiritual presences that might accompany us through darkness, offering guidance, protection, and the strength to continue.
Inspired by angelic figures and celestial beings across different religious traditions, the paintings explore the space between the spiritual and the deeply personal. Strong, vibrant colours emerge against abstract landscapes, creating horizons that suggest the possibility of hope beyond pain. A recurring divine bird becomes a symbol of freedom, transcendence, and the soul searching for a way through uncertainty.
The never-ending circles suggest cycles of life, time, suffering, and renewal, movements that continue beyond our individual existence. Within the solitude of the compositions, the angel is both a guardian and an inner presence: a metaphor for the resilience that allows us to navigate loss, fear, and vulnerability while continuing to look toward a horizon of hope.
