THE GARDEN

This series reflects on my years living in Australia, a country I gradually came to adopt as part of my own cultural and emotional landscape. The vastness of its deserts and oceans became a recurring source of inspiration, offering landscapes that are simultaneously overwhelming, elemental, and deeply contemplative.

Strong horizon lines divide and connect earth, water, and sky, creating a sense of structure within the immense openness of the landscape. Against these ordered lines, vibrant colours suggest the constant movement and unpredictability of nature.

The paintings explore the tension between order and chaos—between the desire to find structure and the forces that continually disrupt it. The desert and ocean become more than geographical subjects; they become metaphors for belonging, transformation, and the experience of finding one's place within an unfamiliar yet ultimately adopted world.
